Shades of last week's game.. Furman really has to keep its concentration on third downs -- Wofford's offense seems to have an extra gear when they get into short-mid range 3rd downs, and offensively, FU has to start converting at some point.

There should be no GSU fan getting ahead of ourselves. We have had moments of promise, but our defense is less then impressive. I'm very optimistic about the next few years, but I'm taking this years games one at a time. Furman has had its own problems, and they look very beatable to several SOCON teams, but our teams (FU and GSU) could be a handful if they find their identity.

Furman is not a good football team. I don't know what has happened, since with almost everyone back this was supposed to be a big year. Last year, with about the same players and talent level, I watched Furman physically manhandle Wofford in a game that was never close. Props to Wofford on their coaching adjustments, particularly with that shotgun stuff y'all were doing tonight. We just had no answers.

Our offense really needs to find an identity at some point. With Gray, we were supposed to be more of an option team. But he isn't a good runner, and our offensive line isn't that good, and so the running game has not been there. Even Jerome has not gotten going this year. I do feel good about the development of Sorrells and our wide receivers, but otherwise I don't have much confidence in the offense.

The worst part is that our season has ended before it could even get started. There is still a lot to play for and a long season ahead, but man, this is disappointing. Congrats to Wofford, it looks like you guys are in for a big year.

I think this really gets under the skin of the FU fans who saw Lamb play. He doesn't coach like he played (from everything I've heard). He's much more conservative now. Oh well.

What a game for Wofford! I don't know what has changed so much from last year, but this team is nothing like the team I watched play us in Sparkleburg last year.

I don't think anyone can deny that our offense is good, and on weeks when Armanti Edwards is not playing, we may very well have the best offense in the conference (which is saying something for this year).

And while our defense is not great, it is still much better than it was versus Coastal Carolina and I don't think anyone thought that GSU would shut Western out for three quarters. GSU's D also played well versus Chatty, it's just that the offense turned the ball over 4 times and blew the game for us.

Finishing 8-3 will be tough for us, but I think we have a good chance to take down either App. State or Wofford on the road.

As long as you are going to talk about running D, why not GSU? Look at the rushing numbers that we have put up, even without Lamar Lewis. The Citadel, Elon, and GSU could all take them.
