The CAA Today: Week Three Results, Week Four Preview -- Too Many Great Teams!

This year, the CAA is now looking like it has six premier teams, the “CAA Super Six.” They consist of UMass, Delaware, JMU, UNH, Richmond and Hofstra, and as of this week they are all nationally ranked. While unlikely, it is still a possibility for the "CAA Super Six" to all finish with an 8-3 record or better. It is just sad to see that maybe only three or four of these teams will make the playoffs and a couple of teams who could very well go deep into the playoffs won’t even get in. But, that’s just life in the CAA.

I don't think Towson's trend of successes has ended because we didn't have the potential to be good this year. A lot of things didn't happen that needed to. Some D-Line help would've been nice (a transfer that was ready to play). We recruited almost all lineman last year but all of them are true freshman this year...not really what you want on a line.

We got the O-Line transfer in Logan-El but he came in unconditioned...and now is suspended.

This is how our season has been going...

*Rasheed McClaude is out for the W&M game with an abdominal strain meaning Nick Williams will start at running back. Matt Castor is the only backup because...
*Jas Lee Rouson is still out with effects from a concussion. Leaving only Josh Root for the short yardage back but he also is a backup linebacker, and has special teams duties.
*Tommy Breaux (6'8" WR, playmaker) is officially listed as out for the year due to broken foot @ UMass game.
*Hakeen Moore (WR) out vs. CCSU for season.
*Dayron Arnold (Other big target at 6'3" WR) - out for a the beginning of the season, probable for W&M
*Starting left tackle, Leon Stevenson, out for the season @ the UMass game...his backup was Logan-El but...
*Antonio Logan-El has been suspended for violating team rules, so Adam Pritts starts at left tackle.
*Starting center, Nick Bradway, broke his finger and misses a couple of games. Backup center couldn't snap shotgun (some high, some low, some wide), neither could the backup's backup, so we played musical lineman, and that didn't work either.


Honestly the only bright spot I've seen this year is substantially better run defense than the last few years and Jimmy McClam's kickoff returns. The kid is on fire and I can all but guarantee he is going to break one for a TD this season.

Is Rouson the guy who appeared to get knocked out during the UMass game? I believe it was on a UMass kickoff, a UMass player just ran him over. The player was down for a while before showing movement.

I know there was another playearlier where a Towson player got hit by another UMass player. He made it off the field, but collapsed on the sideline.

Towson certainly took a hit with Breaux and Stevenson getting injured vs. UMass, was just wondering if Rouson got injured in the same game.

Yup that was him on the kickoff play. Took a SHOT. He was the highly touted back that was set to go play for Colorado (on scholarship) then a coaching change left him in the dust...no more schollie...so he looked elsewhere and chose Towson. Great size and speed and the type of back we need. Just a Frosh though...so I'm not expecting huge #'s...could be high on the depth chart late season though.
