Has nobody posted this yet? I missed this over the weekend...

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3034387

I don't know enough of the story to know what's exactly going on, but I like the fact that he's apparently sticking up for his player.

Wow.

Just, wow.

Just goes to show, sensationalism sells newspapers....whether it's the truth or not. xcoolx xcoolx xcoolx

According to ESPN, this (http://newsok.com/article/3131543) is it.

Okay, so I read the article. Apart from the content, did anybody else think that it was poorly written??

apparently this has been going on for a few years and this paper is considered one of the worst. As the coach said he would change a few things if he could do it over. You should only "attack" a kid based on football skills not on his personal life.

I have a crap load of respect for Gundy. He stood up for his player when the player was down. Any coach that does that is deserving of respect in my opinion.

That's hilarious.

I am amazed at the amount of crap he's getting from journalism associations. It just goes to show that journalism people believe in sensationalism to the max at all costs.

Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio said he'll never get a big-time college coaching job now......that's going a little too far.

I've seen the rant on ESPN a few times now.

Kudo's to Gundy for reeming the media a new one xthumbsupx

I have classes with a lot of football player. I'm friends with even more of the ones on our team. I also have classes with basketball players, soccer players, etc. Every single one of them today that has seen the clip said that they love the fact that he stood up for the player. I've heard people who have no clue who this guy is say they'd let their kid play for a coach like that. The media is mad because he took a shot at one of their own. What they're saying on ESPN isn't conducive to what the rest of America is thinking.

Here's what I've noticed about this whole Gundy thing...
The media themselves are the only ones calling shananigans on Gundy, and, quite frankly, it smells like they're just trying to "cover one of their own." Football fans either think he was awesome, or don't care. The media is keeping this alive with their own arrogance.

Was Gundy's press conference unprofessional? Absolutley. But watch it again if you haven't. He's angry, but not irrational. This outburst is not comparable to Dennis "Crown their ass" Green, any Jim Mora Sr. meltdown or even Lee Elia's famous rant about the denziens of Wrigley Field. He came off as the angry man you sure as hell better take seriously.

Colin Cowherd can be irrational, I doubt this would cloud any future job offers.

That's being nice. He sucks plain and simple and last time I looked, OSU in the Big 12 is a major college football head coaching job. Don't know why CC would say it wasn't. What a idiot!

GO CATAMOUNTS!!!

Yup. He thinks he's right just because he has a microphone in his face.

I wonder if he would still be right if Coach Gundy got in his face instead.

This is the part that I think is way over the top...

That scene in the parking lot last week had no bearing on the Cowboys changing quarterbacks, and yet, it said so much about Reid. A 21-year-old letting his mother feed him in public? Most college kids, much less college football players, would just as soon be seen running naked across campus.

And what of the scene television cameras captured earlier that evening of Reid on the sidelines laughing with assistant strength coach Trumain Carroll? The same cameras showed him throwing his cap in disgust after a missed play earlier, but to be laughing in the final minutes of an embarrassing loss is bad form.

Oh noes xeekx he was seen laughing on the sidelines while getting beat by Troy State!! xrolleyesx He should have been kicking trash cans and throwing ice cubes at fans like REAL players do!! He should learn to always have an appropriate face on like a politician for the predatory press taking candid shots!!

And he can let his mom help dress himself for all I care. How the freak is that even relevant besides just trying to embarass the kid?

In the end, this will turn out to be a win-win situation. Gundy has received the bedgrudging respect of many of his peers, althought they're not likely to publicly praise him. Plus, that was an awesome video to show recruits.
Carlson, who already has the sympathy of virtually every journalist in the country has become a household name among editors nationwide. She'll be writing her own ticket soon. Next stop, FoxSports.com xnodx She just has to be careful how she plays the "victim card." If she overplays it, her appeal will fall too far.

Most college kids will do anything to be around their parents while in college. Middle school your parents embarrass the crap out of you, and maybe so in high school. College you enjoy being around your parents.

I totally agree with and back Gundy, but the "I'm a man, I'm 40!" part, and the newspaper falling apart in the beginning are pure comedy gold.

Journalism is dead if she gets any sympathy from the press. The things about the photo and the chicken are just ad hominems and every thing else has been denied by the Coach Gundy, and she won't cite her sources.

What do you mean "if?" She currently is getting sympathy from fellow media types.

Funny audio, but they really should have included the actual video...how hard would it have been to get two slobs to stand in a fake audience and ask questions?
