I just called to inquire about USF / WVU tickets for Friday night (my wife and I were going to go with our USF alum friends) and they are sold out already. xeekx
USF has never come close to selling out Raymond James Stadium before.
People in this area are jumping on that bandwagon like crazy, but I'm sure we will be able to get good seats in following weeks after WVU takes it to them. :)

By "sold out," do you mean USF's normal allocation for the Stadium? It's my understanding that not all of Raymond James Stadium is opened up for USF games. Thus making a "capacity" crowd for a USF football game something in the neighborhood of 45,000.

There were only 3,000 tickets left by last weekend. I went the UNC game and had a blast in the rain. I could have had tickets to the WVU game but my wife wanted to go to Orlando. xnonono2x The atmosphere on Friday will be crazy.
Oh well I'll be in Ray J for the UCF game (on the day before my birthday xthumbsupx ), gotta love those student companion tickets. xlolx

No, this is a real sellout, they usually don't open the upper decks. But the buzz prompted them to open those seats. The buzz on campus is crazy.

Good question - I actually don't know the answer to that. If it is a limited stadium capacity, I wonder if they would consider opening up the remainded of the stadium in the future if the demand is there. xconfusedx
Even at a 45K capacity, I do not think they have ever sold out.
Edit: never mind - answered above.

Unfortunately, I can't. xsmhx Especially with folks sleeping out by the Sun Dome. I put off two trips for this game and I still can't go.

BTW, how is it that the University of SOUTH Florida is in Tampa? Yes, I know it's further south than F or FSU, but still....

Because the University of Tampa was already taken and The University of Central West Coast Florida just didn't have the same ring to it. :)

This is great for the Big East. I thought inviting USF was a desperation move, but it's working out well so far. Rutgers has stepped up and so has Louisville (although they look overrated this year).
But who would have thought Syracuse, UConn and Pitt would have all stepped so far backwards?

I think most teams with gold helmets wear gold pants... I think the thing I like is the green pants with the gold helmet. xnodx I don't care for the other combos they wear as much.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here...
From Wikipedia (take it with a grain of salt boys):
Although located in west-central Florida, at the time of establishment USF was the southernmost public university in the State of Florida, a geographic situation that lent USF its sometimes confusing name.

I've got an explanation, here goes:
The proper University of Central Florida is in Orlando. Tampa is more southern than Orlando, but not quite in the south, but they thought it was a bit too dodgy to call it the "University of South Central".
Oh I forgot "Florida" :D

This team was on page three of the sports page just two years ago - pretty amazing!

Just like Rutgers this past year.
A great parallel was Boston College during the Flutie era. Nobody gave 2 *****s about them in Boston prior to that. Those teams are what brought BC to it's current level. Prior to that, they were a marginal I-A team, sort of in a no-man's land between MAC level and that of the major eastern independents (WVU, Pitt, Penn St.). If a few things had gone wrong, I could easily believe that BC would be playing in the CAA or Patriot League.

Auburn 17, Florida 3, end of the 3rd quarter.
That makes South Florida the highest ranked team in Florida. South Florida will probably be around 7 or 8 in the rankings.

Actually, what is more interesting is that there are three undefeated teams left in the Big East, not West Virginia, Louisville, and Rutgers, but they are South Florida, Cincinnati, and Connecticut.
