Any Chicago fans here? Do you agree with Smith's un-dying commitment to Grossman?

They have some problems...
A) Who's better than Grossman behind him on the depth chart "Gresie" sp xlolx
B) They have not drafted a quality QB ... xsmhx
C) No quality tight-end short pass dump over the middle type plays... that seem to help QB's

Wow, did you hear the Greise, Greise chanting at the game last night...

Given the number of quarterbacks Chicago has started over the past 20 years, Grossman has started more games than most.
Probably time for a change- the Midway Curse on Quarterbacks- and whoever replaces him likely won't last very long, either.

Griese is a solid backup. Lovie is a moron for going with Rex for so long. He is stubborn and stupid. Put Griese in and don't even dress Rex IMO. He is worthless.

Pure speculation.. but there have been a lot of rumors flying around Philly that McNabb may not be back with the Eagles next year.. if true.. the Bears (he's from Chicago) would seem like a very probable destination.

With their defense all they need is a QB that doesn't throw 3 Ints.

The Bears defense will not hold up all season if they don't get an offense. It's a great defense, but it will get worn out trying to win 3 - 0 games.

John Clayton advanced this the other day on Mike and Mike.
I think the Bears missed out by not nabbing Leftwich when he was available.

If the Bears end up having a bad season they might luck out in the draft. I think this years QB crop will be one of the better ones. Brohm and Woodson seem like they're going to be studs and there's some other solid guys behind them. I'm not a Bears fan but have always thought Grossman needed the benifit of the doubt because he simply hasn't played many games and QB's usually don't take off until their 3rd season. However, Grossman still makes a lot of dumb passses and his confidence seems shakey when he talks.

That's been bantered about on sports talk radio a lot up here. It would be a great fit. He went to Mt. Carmel HS in Chicago, basketball teammate with Antoine Walker. Too bad McNabb didn't stick with the roundball, he as much better (statistically) in hoops.

Its either Rex or Kyle Orton in my book...NO GRIESE!!! Im not ready to dump Rex yet...give him a few more starts and see what happens...His WRs have dropped alot of balls and on some of the INTs, Moose and Berrian have just stopped running their route...Its not ALL on Rex...Also, Benson fumbles alot too

You think they will have the confidence in Kolb by then to let McNabb go?

Matt,
C'mon fellow Chicagoan! Yea 2 of his INT's were not his fault, but he never steps up in the pocket, he is a sitting duck in the pocket because he doesn't move at all. I don't expect him to scramble like Vick, or even like Romo, but c'mon. Madden made a terrific point about him and how defenses spot blitz b/c he doesn't move...ANYWHERE. I say go with Griese for now, if he plays well (and he has to play better then Wrecks) then stick with him. He is experienced, isn't afriad to break a nail, thus stepping up in the pocket and following through, when he throws a pass.
The Bears should not re-sign Wrecks next year, let Griese go as well. Move Orton to starter and draft a QB (Colt Brennan, of Hawai'i, Brian Brohm of Louisville, Matt Ryan of BC, John David Booty of USC, Andre' Woodson of Kentucky) and maybe the rookie QB gets a little PT in the 1st year, if not, he starts in year 2.

As a Bears fan, I already have either Andre Woodson from Kentucky or Matt Ryan from BC on my draft board for 2008.xthumbsupx
