Drake Football TOUCHDOWN!
giving the UNI boys (and me) a little surprise, Drake looks quite a bit smaller than UNI, so the panthers may wear them down, good to see drake doing well early though

I think their defensive line will eventually wear out our O-Line... but we have 7 of the top 8 returners on the defensive line, and they rotate a lot. Not worried about the D getting tired....

I don't think there's enough catnip in Iowa for the Cap'n right now.

Just back back from the UNI vs. Drake game.
First and foremost: I met Cap'n Cat!!! :) :) :)
I had my 9 year-old daughter with me and the Cap'n was very kind and gracious towards her. A true gentleman.
Drake took their first drive in for a TD. They also had a nice drive for a field goal early on in the game. After the Panthers let Drake have their fun, It was all UNI. Our sophomore QB Sanders looked awesome. His passing was accurate and he hit a few big plays. Attendance for the game was around 10,300, which I thought was pretty good for a Thursday night game.

How's he doing?
Phaydavong looked pretty good to me. I didn't realize that he was only 5'6". Don't know his final stats, but he had a pretty good game. He was quick and could cut on a dime. I can see why the Drake folks like him.

No it won't be any tougher. Our offense looks unstoppable and Duluth is kind of young of Defense. I think Duluth will have an opportunity to put up some more points barring any turnovers. It still won't be close.

Yep, Cap'n Cat got to meet the legendary igo4uni last night! Daughter is a cutie-and-a-half, too!
Re: the game, Cap'n Cat spent a lot of time working the Dome, talking to old FB friends, but when he did watch the game, He was very impressed with the poise, leadership and maturity of the young UNI QB, Eric Sanders. He could be a great I-AA QB very soon.
I know it's the first game and they'll make adjustments, but looked like the o-line had some difficulty early reach blocking and cutting off backside pursuit. Easy to fix, though!
:)
