I am watching the game, but just logged on to AGS to keep busy at halftime.

Wofford has been running the option offense out of the shotgun since 2002. Usually however, there is only one other back in the backfield. Today's offense has an extra blocker in the backfield (and looks a lot like the wishbone). In most of the games I've seen recently, a slight majority of the offensive plays have been run out of formations other than the wingbone.

Defense isn't horrible, just 1) on the field too long, and 2) unprepared for the mixup of plays the WU coaches threw at us. Excellent play calling on WU's behalf, we just couldn't contain the running game today. Congrats WU, and good luck in the rest of the Socon.

A very unexpected outcome for me. Bigger holes in ASU's game than just about anybody saw going into this game. Lots to fix for the Mountaineers.

Wofford fans, don't let anybody take any of the shine off this victory. The Terriers played wonderfully, making the Mountaineers look pretty awful in spots. People will say "we played like crap, Armanti was hurt, etc..."

Well, Wofford played lights-out. Period. Great work.

(And don't listen to the "wanted it more," "more heart," "more guts," "ASU got caught in their own hype" garbage. Heart and hype don't orchestrate masterful offensive drives. Guts don't control the clock. You guys just played superior football.)

Here's hoping for a repeat of 2005, ASU's only conference loss being avenged in the playoffs.

Not a good day, but I don't think they gave up. They were on the field for SO much in the first three quarters there just wasn't enough in the tank to stop Wofford when they needed to in the 4th.

Especially the short fields Wofford had due to miscues, which to their credit they took full advantage of.

Agreed on the D - but Elder was much more effective than Armanti today. Looks like we better get used to him as a starter for at least a few more games. He surprised me with his runs today, but WU was way too much on both sides of the ball. Should be interesting to see how well they match up with the balance of their schedule. Again, we got completely schooled today by a superior team. I guess on Any Given Saturday......

It's never easy to go on the road against a well-coached and talented team. App St lost at Furman a couple years ago and still won the national title.

So far as the SoCon, 3 teams definitely could make it to the playoffs this year, though the balance could also mean only 2 are able to get to 8 wins+.

I knew we'd hit a roadbump. I was hoping we could run the table in the SoCon again but I knew every SoCon road game would be tough.

This will definately deflate our balloon and bring our heads out of the clouds. It's probably for the best in the end. If the bandwagon fans want to get off, then they stay off no matter what.

Michigan doesn't not matter at all. L-R and NAU doesn't. It just helps us with making the playoffs. We're 0-1 in conference now.

He's been hurt since the Michigan game...a lot of guys have been pretty banged up. First game since UM and was pulled at the start second half, shoulder must have still been bothering him. I believe he had ice on it the rest of the game.
