Elated and hope it works out for GSU.

Coach Briles was in PV's top-3 wish-list.

This should be a great addition to the Tigers' staff. Grambling needs to be a top program continuing the legacy of the top coach of all time.

I believe this is a great addition to the Grambling staff. I'm loving how the HBCU's are thinking outside the box and now acquiring high profile coaches which in return bring in high profile recruits. Grambling, Tennessee State, FAMU, Jackson State and Prarie View all have done it recently and recruiting at all schools has drastically been better.

Doug Williams is pretty bent out of shape about this hire, he cited Briles back ground but I doubt that is his primary reason for his disapproval.

Good.

he shouldn't be allowed to be in a position of power on a college campus - or honestly coaching high school either.

FUBeAR thinks Posts #6 & #9 (your post) in this thread answer that question.

WTF was Grambling thinking? Did they think because Liberty hired McCaw it was OK? It's not. Frankly Grambling should be better than that.

WTF was Grambling thinking?

Same line of thinking with the high schools that have tried to hire Dave Bliss: he can help, he'll work cheap, and maybe people won't notice enough to raise a stink. Didn't work.

One other item to note that Grambling hired Hue Jackson as their HC. This is the same Hue Jackson that ran the Cleveland Browns into the ground in 2017 by going 0-16, the second team to achieve that feat (the 2008 Detroit Lions were the other). If I was a Grambling fan, I would be upset to the point where I would have no option but to reach out to members of the Board of Trustees and elected officials (take a page out of a few Tennessee fans' playbook) in an effort to get the program in a better position. If there any Grambling fans on this forum, let me be the first to offer my condolences to you over what is going on.

I'm sure the Browns' record had everything to do with Hue and nothing to do with the roster, front office and ownership. This is pretty harsh. Hue was successful in his stints in Cincinnati and Washington as an assistant. Who says he can't be successful in the FCS? He's got 18 years of NFL coaching experience and hasn't even taken the field yet. What he HAS done is sign Grambling's largest recruiting class ever, including multiple P5 transfers.

IMHO, anyone that reaches out to the ****ing board of trustees or whatever the **** about a HC before he even gets to, ya know, coach a game comes off as an old geezer yelling at the clouds.
