Obviously a huge development for Chelsea football.

I'll admit that he's a great coach, but I just can't stand the guy. I'm sure some club will pick him up, though.

Some large club, probably in Spain or Italy will grab him, if one of the National Teams doesn't. Mourinho is a sharp guy and a good manager, if he's slightly full of himself. He and Abromovich have been at odds over the club for a while now, so I guess I'm not too surprised to see him go. Supposedly they had a big shouting match after the Rosenborg draw. It'll be interesting to see who Chelsea goes with next, and how this affects their lackluster start.

Wasn't it just about a week or so ago that they announced Jose "I love myself" Mourinho just signed an extension? Guess that didn't happen...xrotatehx
He's a good coach who knows his X's and O's on the pitch, but he's definitely not a good motivator or a people-person. He's like the Tom Coughlin of the EPL! xlolx

Ronald Koeman from PSV Eindhoven in Holland had been getting some looks from some clubs in Spain/England/Italy before this was even announced. According to some people from with the PSV Organization, it wouldn't be surprising if he left sometime during the Champions League. of course, PSV is doing everything they can to keep him there, but now that a spot with Chelsea is open...Koeman surely has to be on the top of the list to take the helm at Chelsea. xnodx With what he's done at PSV with a fairly limited budget, imagine what he could do with an unlimited budget at Chelsea! xconfusedx I'd be sad to see him go though...xbawlingx

Only unlimited if Abromovich lets it be so. Jose was not happy with the little money he was given for January and summer transfers this year compared to years prior, and truth be told, Chelsea wasn't spending like ManU or Liverpool.
Chelsea thinks they're a big club now, so they're going to be looking for a big name with pedigree. Koeman would fit that, although supposedly Abromovich is interested in having Gus Hiddink do double-duty with Chelsea and his beloved Russian National Team. Now that would be interesting
