Here's a part of a longer blurb related to SHSU activities going on to promote breast cancer awareness. I am not familiar if other schools have done this -- a poster on KatFans said one of the New Mexico schools have done this. Love the idea and glad to see SHSU getting behind such a thing...

Trying to make sure our friends from Conway know what's going on and all other fans who are making the visit to Huntsville for the game...
-----------------------
Several groups from Sam Houston State University will be on hand during tailgating activities in Bearkat Alley beginning at 4 p.m. prior to the football game to distribute information about different types of cancer and provide free food and soft drinks.

The Huntsville Item, sponsor of the Oct. 6 football game, will give out pink towels to the first 250 Bearkat fans that go through the ticket gate to attend the game.

All Bearkat fans are encouraged to wear pink in order to "pink out" the stadium.

The Bearkat football team will show its support at the game against Central Arkansas beginning at 6 p.m. Four Huntsville breast cancer survivors will serve as honorary co-captains and will go on the field for the coin toss prior to kick-off. The football players will wear the traditional breast cancer awareness pink ribbons on their helmets and the coaches will wear pink wristbands.

Orange Pride dancers will wear pink ribbons in their hair, and the Sam Houston cheerleaders will wear pink ribbons or pink wristbands. Sammy Bearkat will have on a pink shirt.

I'm not going to touch this one...

Decided to edit this as the PC Police will be all over me. I fully understand the ramifications of Cancer. Cancer has affected nearly all of our lives in some way. It is a terrifying disease. Nobody wants to hear the C word, but with that said...

Are you kidding me? I'm cool with the pink ribbons and wrist bands, I am cool with raising public awareness as much as possible. But how are you going to get a pink out in a stadium where you can't even get an orange out. I can hear em now in North Dakota..."Damn Rhett looks good in Pink." A pink out? Are you kidding me?
