Towson is currently completing its transition from Non-Scholarship to full I-AA Scholarship level (with its move from the Patriot League to the Atlantic 10). This move will be completed by 2007, as it takes 4 years. According to NCAA rules and regulations, a team is aloud to schedule D-IA opponents one year after becoming full scholarship. Thus, we can't do it until 2008.
2008 - Navy
2009 - Northwestern
2010 - Hearing rumors of Indiana or another Big 10 school
This is great news for Towson, as it will bring us a lot of money and national recognition....which is exactly what we need. Travel costs for the Navy game are very, very low which is a big plus as well. I personally would've liked to schedule maybe Navy, an ACC team (Maryland would've been great), and maybe a Big East team (say WVU or something...I don't think Rutgers wants to play any A10 teams anymore :p ).
p.s. all games are away, of course.
