"We couldn't never, ever match their speed," VMI coach Jim Reid said. "They have speed at every position. Holy mackerel. I could see this team winning another national championship here."

JMU basically brought their '"B" game. In addition to sitting Holloman, they sat their best d-lineman (both could have played I bet if needed). Put in their backup qb in the 3rd when it was 35-3. Scored in the 1st minute of the 4th to go up 42-3, then took the gas off the pedal. Twice in the 4th could have punched it in for more scores- once on 4th & about 1 at the 7 & kicked a field goal, and the backups were driving, 1st down with the ball around VMI's 15 in the in the 4th with close to 2 min left and JMU just knelt on the ball for 3 straight plays.

Did a poor job on tackling on that kickoff in the 4th that VMI ran back for a td.

"“If Coach Matthews wanted to, it could have been 63 again this week,” Reid said."

Looked like VMI played as hard and as well as they could play (including no turnovers), but were just way overmatched. Glad Matthews and JMU showed class and didn't try to run up the score.

"JMU has lots of speed"

With lots of speed there is a need for some downers! ;)
