For what it is worth I was a big supporter of adding Coastal to the SoCon instead of Samford, but unfortunately the powers that be did not ask for my opinion.

I really don't know what to make of the game tonight. Both teams had issues on defense. Foster was obviously the difference.

It is hard to say what kind of season either team will have. Coastal fought the entire way. The fumbled punt return was the turnaround play of the game imo.

We've got to get better on offense, though. The passing game still looks as bad as it did last year. Thankfully our six toughest games are the last six. We need to not get penalized 100+ yards anymore, either.

I'll say this, though. Brian VanGorder would have lost that game 34-14.

BVG wouldn't have an 43.5 points per game average in the first two games either...heck, we didn't get over 40 once last year and only got over 30 once.

I think you're being a lil too hard on Will.

Tyler went to the NFL off of ONE GREAT SEASON. A season in which the entire offense was changed and no one had film to scout nor knew how well Tyler could throw or that Jerome was the athlete he is.

Tyler had a VERY experienced offensive line, and had been playing with the same core of WR, TE, and RB's for 3 years.

Will will be fine, this was only his 3rd start. Tyler didn't even lock up the QB position until his 3rd year!

On the other hand....our DEFENSE hasn't stopped a soul in the last 3 years!!!!

The wife was worried that we would get back to the car and they would still be there or we would find some damage had been done, but neither was the case.

I watched the game on TV, and while Foster is a very strong force to be reckoned with, I would certainly reserve the claim, "best player in America", until he faces, and has success against a disciplined defense.
Coastal Carolina has some good athletes but they continued to commit themselves allowing Foster and Co- to exploit their advantage in quickness.

Everybody knows Foster can beat you with his legs, but how successful can he be when he is forced to throw. We will find out when they play App. St., Furman, Wofford and The Citadel. Until then, making a claim that Foster is "the best player in the country" is premature.
