Just to pass along, I was there. What an amazing game. The Marshall crowd was very friendly to us, and they were reasonably loyal, I thought. I was so impressed by how UNH was able to match Marshall, drive-for-drive, as the game moved along. Very, very huge win. I'll write more tomorrow.

A lot must have changed since Marshall's I-AA days.. UD was there three times in the '90s for playoff games and I can't say the fans were 'hospitable' on any occasion.

WOW...... still recovering from this past weekend... I am guessing I won't be able to talk for a few days and it feels like I got hit by a train... but was it ever worth it... What a game... and what a pre-game experience... we visited a local tailgate run by a huggeee Marshall fan http://smokinthunder.com and it was one of the best pre-game experiences I have ever had... everyone was over the top nice... we did not encounter any rudeness whatsoever... We ate, among other things, smoked salmon, oysters, clams, fried catfish and drank drank drank and oh ya..drank some more... it really was an awesome time and that was before the even more ridiculous game... even after the game when we went out to some local drinking holes in Huntington, people had nothing bad to say about UNH and the play of the 'Cats and bought us beers and we talked football all night... It was such a great experience. I was somewhat expecting it after talking to some W&M and Hofstra fans, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine having such a perfect time (especially with some of the comments from some posters here about their past experiences at Marshall.) I could go on and on (Still riding the high from Sat. night)... but I guess that's it... GOOO CATTSS!!!

I'll echo the experiences of those who said the Marshall Fans were very nice. We were not smart enough to buy tickets through UNH, so we were literally right in the middle of the Marshall faithful, 50 rows up at the 50. Everyone we sat next to and talked to were warm and cordial, though we did have a bit of a tough time getting someone to tell us where to park. A lot of the fans had done research about our last game against JMU, and some fans came over to tell us what a great team we had. I really enjoyed the trip. We stopped in Charleston to eat at TGI Friday's, and received a number of congratulatory statements from WV fans.

As for the game, I just cannot say enough. Levan, Boyle and Sicko really seem to be stepping up for the losses of Ball and Brown. JT Wright, Terrance Fox and Travis Negron seem to be doing a very good at the complementary WR spots, and all three were in on a number of plays (Though for the life of me, I do not know what/where Matt O'Brien is). I thought that Chris Ward had his best game at UNH, and Bobby Simpson came on big, too. It's important to note that UNH did not even have one of their bigger weapons in Chad Kackert, who was out with a hamstring injury. Santos was just incredible, also. Goodness. On his first scramble attempt, he was soundly destroyed by an athletic Marshall player. Beyond that, he was just unstoppable.

I suspect Marshall took UNH lightly, as looking at their starter when he came in, he could move fine. I think they were trying to get by with the RS Frosh, and they really got burned. UNH could not stop the moble starter, and he drove them for 5 (and almost 7) straight touchdowns, including a miracle 4th and 17 conversion. UNH still needs to work on press coverage, as Marshall picked Vasso and Clements apart with all the space they gave them. I think Vasso and Clements are both pretty talented, so I'm surprised we haven't tried a bit more to move them up. Defensively, I thought Terrance Klein, Matt Perdoni, Hugo Souza and Jeff Pammer really stood out. Perdoni was getting some serious pass rush at times.

Scott Sicko is just a beast. Wow. This was, for all intents and purposes, a must win. Wait to go by UNH. They now get Dartmouth at home before another ENORMOUS game against Richmond. With that said, Kudos to UNH for this amazing effort. 3 Straight. That's just incredible.

I have to add to the comments on how UNH was treated at Marshall. Next to Hampton, this was the nicest crowd I have encountered. Had people coming up to me before the game wishing us luck. At first I thought they were being sarcastic but after it happened a few times, realized they were being genuine. The fans around us were nice before, during and after the game.

People can change.... I have an uncle when I was a kid we hated going over to his house cause he was the meanest person in the world... he always yelled and just seemed angry non stop....

Then his two sons grew up and introduced him to marijuana and man did he mellow out.... and he actually became fun to be around.... now im not saying Marshall fans are high... but after the way the teams been playing its possible they were xlolx

Marshall has sure degraded since their time atop Div 1-AA, let's hope App doesn't follow suit.......big win however for NH
