Wow, I had no idea her even had a knee problem. He had a broken wrist that has severly limited its motion apparently, he is rumored to have a bad back, and now micro fracture surgery. This is extremely nasty and from what I understand is one of the mot sdifficult surgeries to recover from. Oden is a fine young man with immense talent, I hope we get to see what he can do.

A lot of very tall people have knee problems, maybe it's just from that?

Difference is Sam Bowie was known to be injury prown and not as good as the other draft picks that year.

ODEN's problem is a shock to everybody.
Can you imagine what this kid is going through mentally right now.
Play with no problems your entire life and now when everything is about to pay off, this comes out of the blue.

I hope he has a full recovery cause he seem's like a good, level headed guy.

Uhhhhh, no?

Oden has had injury/health/stamina problems from the get-go....it's why there was even a debate at ALL regarding who should be the #1 pick....looks like the Jailblazers failed the old Nuke Power 50/50/90 rule....you know, if you have a 50% shot at getting something right, 90% of the time you'll pick the wrong one....

Oden had a bad wrist - I know no one ever considered that he could have a torn ligament and microfractures in his knee - hard to draw that conclusion from a bad wrist.

Bad wrist, bad thumb, bad knees, bad back, bad ankles......All issues he's dealt with since high school.
That 45 year-old body just ain't holding up like it should.xrolleyesx

"Pritchard said Oden had MRIs on both knees before the draft and they were "pristine."

Then why did the article say that ODEN was checked out before the draft and NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND by any doctor.xconfusedx

The debate was about if Oden was a BETTER PLAYER then the #2 pick.

Let's all look at the best case scenario for the Trailblazers. Oden doesn't play Roy get's a year better all the players start to mesh, but get pounded in the loaded west. What happens? They become another lottery team and get the first or second pick again, and now have Oden, Roy and another great talent. Hey, it could happen.

I'm sorry, but there were games where it looked like he could hardly move out there. Durant moves like a cat. Put 30 pounds on that body, and you've got the next Reggie Miller. xnodx xnodx xnodx

Oden will be a bust. Mark it down. He can play (has the tools), unlike a Kwame Brown, but he just will never be able to stay healthy. Dude's body is already breaking down and he's only what, 22? Looks/walks/runs like he's 45. xsmhx
