They did last year when they shared the OVC title with EIU and both went to the playoffs. xrulesx No need to smack the OVC, they actually have current members that have national championship wins unlike some other conferences. Martin plays UCA next week so we'll see what's up there.

Those stats out of the Missouri State game are downright bizarre, especially if you watched any part of it. Even though MSU ran a hurry-up spread offense (frequently with 4 receiver sets), the lead QB Matt Krapfl was only 5-for-10 on the day! (Granted two of those were TD passes.) Furthermore, no back gained over 100 yards nor did any receiver gain over 100 yards!

There was only one turnover in the game, and five punts. Penalties played a huge factor (11 penalties for 126 yards against UT-M?).

If you had told me the Skyhawks would score 44 points and get a 100 yard rushing day from Donald Chapman and more than 100 yards receiving from Jamaal Akbar, I'd say that UT-M would have won handily. The key really was a series of key 4th-down stops by the MSU defense (something like 3 times), although the rest of the game they gave up 542 total yards and 246 return yards.
