I agree. I am not sure where that Colonels team has been all year. Their running back Guggenheim rushed for 266 yards and 3 TDs on 29 carries in their 45-42 win.

I think they knew they wouldn’t lose to those teams and I hate that. There is a completely different level of effort when we play JSU, you guys, and playoff teams.

Different matchups, different levels of motivation week to week, and sometimes you just catch lightning in a bottle. I think GWU especially just caught us with our pants down. You're talking about a team that we blow out every year, and they didn't just lay down and die like we expected them to. Besides that, the score differences weren't all that huge. We beat UNA by 4 (you guys beat them by 12) and A&T by 14 (you guys by 19). I think you guys have a good team, but for the first time since 2018, we were the team that came into this game with the chip on their shoulder, and it seems like you guys weren't prepared for it (just like us the last two seasons). Honestly, I didn't expect this result at all, but I knew that our front seven was good enough to take control of the game if they played the way they were capable, and that (along with us finishing our drives instead of turning it over constantly) is exactly what happened. I'm hoping that you guys get in the playoff field though, however slim your chances may be. I want to see two Big South teams in there in our last year in the conference.

I don't feel like arguing this point with anyone, as all we can do is wait and see what the committee decides, but it's strange to think a team with 2 FCS losses (both of which are to teams with losing records, and one of them even has a loss to D2 West Florida) deserves a seed over a team that is 10-0 in the FCS, albeit with a slightly weaker schedule.

Longer answer: The MEAC lost three schools on short notice and the remaining six schools have been trying to backfill schedules as best they can. VUL is one of these non-NCAA schools like North American University and the University of Ft. Lauderdale, that will play for guarantee money.
