Don't have a problem with it, when you do polls in September they're subject to more violent moves.

So are we all agreeing that we want Michigan to run the table from here, or would that make the App win seem more like a fluke?

I'd love to see them run the table, win the Big Ten, slowly climb in the rankings near the top, but not play in the top bowl game (whichever one it is this year) that determines the FBS champ. xnodx

If they win out, people will say it was a fluke. If they go 5-6, people will say it's a fluke because Michigan wasn't very good this season. Some people's minds just won't be changed. xcoolx
That said, I'm rooting for a big season from Michigan. Winning in Ann Arbor was justification enough for me, but if they can work themselves back into the Top 10 and/or a Rose Bowl birth, it only solidifies what was an excellent win.

Yes, except when they play Penn St. I think dropping them completely out of the top 25 is a slap in the face to App St. and FCS.
I think App St. is better than many BCS teams. Something tells me that if Michigan had lost to Duke or Temple they would still be in the Top 25.

I would like to see them run the table then lose to USC in the Championship game.

This might actually be good for the BCS. If Michigan runs the table (winning the Big Ten in the process), but sits on the sidelines because of their "D-2" loss, it will increase the pressure on the BCS to establish some type of play-off (at at least the +1 option).

It'll take more than that to create that kind of push. If a 13-0 Auburn team couldn't get the change nothing will.

Guys Michigan could run the table the rest of the way, they're basically already eliminated from playing in the BCS Champ Game.

Not surprised.
I said they would drop out the Top 25 as soon as that kick was blocked.
No way a tream like Michigan lose to Appy St. and then play for the BCS Championship.xnonox
To be honest with you, the entire BIG 10 is wishing ANYONE BUT Michigan win's the Big 10 title this year.
Appy St. screwed Michigans entire year up even if they somehow blow the other teams on their schedule away by 3 td's each.
They won't be playing for a BCS championship this year no matter what. xlolx

It's more of a preception thing than a slap at Appy.
We talking a top 5 team on the level of so-called unbeatable giant's as far as the football world is concerned.
Losing to a low teir school on Michigans level would be looked at as a fluke and they would be given the chance to work their way back up in the poll's.
No matter HOW GOOD APPY ST. is, FCS Champ or not, MICHIGAN SHOULD NEVER LOSE to them.
The price of a ranked Michigan, Ohio St, USC, Florida, etc., losing to an Appy St or anyone else in FCS is death as far as competing for the BCS Championship.
The NCAA/COACHES WILL NEVER LET MICHIGAN compete for that title this year after losing to a FCS team.
Could you imagine the jokes BCS would get if Michigan somehow got back up there and won the entire thing.

I think it's both. I think that the perception is that the best FCS school is not as good as the worst BCS school. This is not the case, and the voters should know better.
I agree that Michigan's National Championship hopes are probably gone, but they can still qualify for a BCS Bowl. Wouldn't that be funny.

Don't get me wrong.
Let everyone talking before the Michigan game Saturday tell it, Appy St., and nobody else in FCS should even be allowed to play the game of football.
Lee Corso made me hate him again after cutting him slack for the last couple years.
Other pre-games on "cup-cakes" was just as bad.
On Michigans Bowl Chances.
Michigan could could get one of the BIGGEST BCS BOWL's if they win or tie for the Big 10.
Every school in that conference is gonna go after Michigan like their lives depend on it.xnodx
If Michigan has a bad season as for W's and L's, then they can say Michigan was not that good.
If Michigan win's the Big 10, then they will all be embarrassed because their champ got beat by the lowly FCS 2 time champs.
Right now they quietly hoping Oregon beat's the crap out of them so they can start the Michigan ain't good spill early. xlolx
That ain't fair but it's the truth in their minds.............Big 10/BCS/ Announcers/ESPN, etc. xlolx

I think the poll is for BCS schools only.
FBS only.
Being in Utah, I'll rant about how ridiculous the polls are at this time of year. They're nothing but perception and hype. What reason was Michigan at #5 to begin with? What players on defense could you look at past performance and say "that's a #5 team." The preseason polls are why any team not in the BCS will never have a chance to win a national title. The polls will always have a hyped team from the BCS ranked higher than a 10-3 team from the WAC, MWC, C-USA with 22 returning starters. TCU and Hawaii should be ranked higher, at least in the teens.
What I'd like to see is no polls until the collective start of the conference schedule, so three or four games in. Never happen, but there you go. More accurate polls be damned.

I think they should have fallen to about 18-20. Falling all the way out was probably a knee-jerk reaction of shock at the loss.

99% of the football viewing world automatically assumes that a team like Temple is better than any team in the FCS/formerly I-AA/"whatever that division is called" just because they are in the FBS.
Ignorance is bliss.

This is a Lloyd Carr coached Michigan team. xlolx So there's no need to worry about them running the table and going to the Rose Bowl. They still have to play Wisconsin and Ohio State (who'll surely cost Carr his job this year).

Not really ridiculous. Michigan took the famed No. 5 spot 1) because it mirrored their preseason ranking nicely, and 2) the 5 is reserved for the most embarrassing loss, and let's face it, for Michigan, losing at home to ASU is an embarrassment, given where they started xtwocentsx
Besides, the whole thing is a joke anyway
