The Valparaiso University football team shattered a school record for single-game rushing touchdowns with eight while posting the fifth-highest point total in program history during a lengthy 65-55 victory over visiting Presbyterian on Saturday afternoon at Brown Field. Nick Orekoya (Billerica, Mass. / Everett [Massachusetts]) tied a program record with four rushing TDs, while Robert Washington (Huntersville, N.C. / East Gaston [Old Dominion]) ran for three scores and accrued 234 yards on the ground. The 120 combined points shattered a Valpo single-game record that had stood since 1923. In addition, kicker Brian Bartholomew (Sugar Grove, Ill. / Kaneland) made eight PATs to break the program’s single-game mark.
