LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Saturday reached the NFL’s mandatory 53-man roster limit by cutting 19 players and placing second-round draft pick Dan Bazuin and fullback Quadtrine Hill on injured reserve.
Chicago waived the following players: Running back Josh Allen, wide receivers David Ball and Drisan James, defensive ends Copeland Bryan and Chris Frome, defensive tackles Tory Collins and Antonio Garay, safety Tyler Everett, cornerbacks Greg Fassitt and Tim Mixon, quarterback Chris Leak, tackle Mark LeVoir, tight ends Fontel Mines and Brett Pierce, guard Anthony Oakley, guard Tyler Reed, safety Andrew Shanle and linebacker Danny Verdun Wheeler.
The Bears also waived/injured tackle Steven Vieira.
Bazuin hurt his knee during the rookie minicamp in May and missed much of the offseason program. He was then hampered by the injury during training camp and the preseason.
