They won't. It was a sloppy game and UNI is still having problems with the pass.

I know what you mean Reed....but why did we play 2 safetys 13 to 15 yards deep.....MSU threw nothing but 2 to 5 yard passes.....If the Defense wanted to be more aggressive I think it could have.

However....this was an UGLY game....

Being there, (it was steaming, freaking hot in the Dome BTW; can't imagine what it was like on the field) it seemed UNI was in control most of the game, though it would have been real interesting had MSU-M found a way to score in the 3rd. Save for a kickoff breakdown and a fumbled center exchange, MSU-M did not score.

I agree with the concern over the pass coverage. Death by a thousand dump passes is not a grand defensive scheme, but we were breaking in two new corners (and actually rotated two others in throughout the game) and working a couple of new linebackers in as well.

I think a lot was kept simple on both offense and defense, not going to let Chizek and ISU see anything before next week if we didn't have to. I think the coaches found out a lot about our player personnel and we have a couple extra-days to make the improvements for week 2.

Iowa State has a couple extra days too......and I have a long drive from Denver, CO to Ames, IA......xthumbsupx

I am not at all concerned. Last night was so vanilla. They only stunted on defense ONE TIME...

You will see a different team in Ames next week and I fully expect a 10-14 point win...
