Conservative play calling is a large part of this...

I agree the talent around him is not ideal for a run outside of the OL and the TE, Blake Martin...but there has been some very conservative play calling...

I believe Carson-Newman has a few DII National Championships. They've produced some excellent teams and DII early in the year can slap an FCS team around just as easily as an FCS team can surprise an FBS team. Late in the season when injuries factor into the equation, they wouldn't match up because of the depth.
