North Carolina A&T head coach Sam Washington's opening statement: "Tough ballgame. I thought coach Bohannon and his staff had his team well-prepared. They came out with a lot of energy and maintained that energy and effort throughout the ballgame. They had a very good plan for us, and we fell on the short end of the stick. I thought, defensively, we played very well. In the first time facing the triple option, we held them to 14 points; however, they did have 200-plus yards rushing that we were hoping to hold down a little better than that. Offensively, we did not play well. We couldn't get anything going. I thought they beat us at the point of attack. Too much penetration. Football players make football plays, and we had very little to no one step up and produce plays when we got them into one-on-one situations, and that made for a very tough ballgame."
