SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A game-tying field goal as time expired was short and the Wofford College football team was defeated 27-24 by Samford University at Gibbs Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Down 24-7 at halftime, the Terriers came out strong in the second half with 17 unanswered points to tie the game with under five minutes remaining. The Bulldogs took the lead on a field goal with 1:38 left and a 41-yard attempt by the Terriers failed to end the game.
