Conque at UCA is excited about this opportunity to play on television -- their first SLC home game actually.

UCA makes the trip to Huntsville to play SHSU the Saturday before the Thursday game.

McNeese...

Viator is talking about how the Big Sky is always juniors and seniors, doesn't seem to him that your playing a team from the conference in a rebuilding year -- always a veteran ball club.

Viators says this has a lot to do with the transfers from JUCOs and FBS...

Nicholls...

Thomas says Rice is a big challenge, coming off of Rice's bowl trip last year...says they're familiar with Bailiff (who came from TXST), but new surroundings so a lot of wait and see, that they have to prepare well and compete...

On All-American Jarrett Dillard...says he is a phenomenal WR...can run, jump and is a big play player...will have work cut out in secondary to try to contain him...Rice has a good receiving corp...

On new coaching staff at Rice...not a lot to go on, will have to prepare for everything, makes a coach nervous going into a game like this, adjust on the move and adapt to overcome...

SFA...

Coach Harper says SFA is coming out of camp healthy outside of one guy who did not go through camp...great camp, practiced at 3 PM every day and he is excited about the group, thought Southall had a excellent pre-fall, Louie Runnels looks sharp (up to 255), offensive line had a great summer -- got stronger and bigger. Talks about Aaron Rhea starting ahead of Dominique Edison.

Talked about QB coming from New Mexico St and RB coming from Georgia Tech for Tarleton St.

On Tarleton season opener...Tarleton has not sent the film over. SFA hopes to get the film, says they are in the same boat as everyone else as they don't know what they are getting. Said WR played well for Tarleton (scored four TDs).

On QB/WR combo...says it sounded like an easy throw/catch combination. He's worried. Says if Tarleton gets running game going, it opens up play action. Says they need to get to the football, tackle and line up right.

Southall in pressure...worked on during practice with a big guy inside, not sure they've had anyone that productive, but hopefully OL will protect Danny as they have done all August and get a chance to move the offense...

SHSU...tried paraphrasing this as much as I could...

Coach Whitten...says SHSU feels good about camp, but SHSU needs to go to play and says you never know where team is at til they play. Relatively healthy. LB who is going to miss, one DL out. Nagging injuries. Healthy in a week til 10 days...

On Angelo St...respect for Rams from 10 years in the league. Angelo had 17 winning seasons in a row until 3, 4 years ago. Two years ago, they won the league. Certain a good team is going to come to Huntsville and (signal went out)....

On Bomar... PR (the SID) and Whitten have done what they need to do as it relates to Bomar, lots of people want to talk about it. Rhett has put it behind him and he loves to play the game, very passionate about it and he has a smile on face. Thankful it is behind us....

On Bomar's performance...Rhett loves to workout, play football. Like the way he competes. Studies the game, watches film. Competitive guy. Great feed, changes directions well, avoids rushers. Anytime a guy can do that, you have a chance to extend the play. Says Rhett will help do that this year.

On WR corps...some days good, some days not so good. We'll see Thursday night. Can probably answer the question Thursday night. Talented guys who have just not played a lot. A couple of sophomores and juniors. How quickly they can get up to speed, how quickly we can find the guys to make the plays will tell us a lot about our football team...
