This should be an interesting game. Looking forward to our game with the Black Bears in October.

Maine opens at Iowa on August 30, 2008. Contract has been signed, according to the Bangor Daily News.
Now, there's always a chance that Monmouth has agreed to top the $400K payday we're getting from the Hawkeyes. xthumbsupx xthumbsupx

The Hawks may have that week off (or they're on the road themselves) and have Maine coming to W. Long Branch on Sept. 6

I am surprised to hear this, but if that is what we need to do to get home games then so be it. 2 games on the road to start the season is not the best scenario however. Stony Brook will be coming to Orono next season I believe.....one would assume that Sept. 13 is a likely date now.

That's too bad. Oh well, two straight years with two winnable FCS non-conference games isn't that bad.

I think you are right about that date. I know we open at home Labor Day against Colgate and might have Brown on the road also in 2008.

Go Maine! My favorite place to go for vacation. Last time I was there 2 years ago, I drove up to Orono and walked around campus. Very very beautiful.
