I've been a lifelong Falcons fan. I am sad to see Michael Vick and his downfall from grace, but I am more than happy with what I see in Joey Harrington.

He played a very nice game against the Bengals, smiled the entire time, and just looks like he's having the time of his life. This is not the guy that will flick off his fans. I hope the city backs him his entire career in ATL.

While I'm not happy with what happened to Vick - I think this is a great opportunity for Joey. Once he gets enough confidence, he will be a proven team leader.

Its a bit frustrating that everyone writes off the Falcons before the season started. This team would have been in the hunt for the playoffs with Vick, and heck, they may be better without him.

But he's excited to be a Falcon, loving the opportunity to play, and enjoying himself. After years of watching Vick disrespect the fans and the city I don't really care if we go 2-14, I just want to feel good about this team again.

Not last night.... 2-TDs/0-int and an impressive 118 passer rating.....I guess only Vick is entitled to a new start xrolleyesx

Well, since this is his third new start, I wish him the best. And I hope after Vick serves his time, he can come back to the NFL......

the Cowboys could use another WR. xlolx

DUDE YOU ARE SICK.. HOW QUICK YOU FORGET. WE WERE A BOTTOM FEEDER TEAM UNTIL MIKE VICK. HE PUT BUTTS IN THE DOME. LIKE HIM OR NOT HE MADE OUR TEAM RESPECTABLE NOT EVEN THE 98 WAS LOOKED UPON LIKE THE TEAM WE HAD THE LAST 5 YEARS.

MIKE VIKE MADE THIS TEAM. NOW WERE JUST ANOTHER TEAM!!!!!!!

He liked them so much he told them they were 'number one' after a game last year.

Randy Moss?
T.O.?
Are you kidding me, if that's the best you got your better off without Vick.

I hear Mike Tyson and Tim Donaghy also wanted to play with Vick.

I know he's already had a couple of chances....I don't know if you can really count Detroit as a legitimate chance....He was pretty much fed to the Lions (pun intended) there...but he seems confident and he's having fun againxnodx

I don't see how you can't count that. When you invest a top pick it counts. Same as Leftwich in Jax, Eli in NY and Brady Quinn when he hits the field. I'm sure it counted for Akili Smith when he was with the Bengals.

Hooray for the Joey Harrington era. Maybe he'll help bring the team concept back to Atlanta. I think 8-8 will be considered successful.
As for the thousands of fans who claim that they will be boycotting the games because Vick is gone, their "loyalty" speaks volumes. It's actually pretty disturbing. Hopefully a couple of wins will change their minds.

I have nothing against Harrington and seeing how I'm surrounded by Bucs I would love to see the Falcons stick it to them. But it's a hard sell as what to expect from Harrington.

Ok...of course it counts...I'm just saying I'm not sure anyone could win there right now

I agree he looked good. With the way the NFC is if the Falcons can put it together they can make a playoff run. Harrington is more experienced than Schaub.

Have to admit Harrington looked good last night, doesn't seem confused or awkward as he did in Detroit. As a side note, anyone else pissed at the 24/7 Mike Vick circus last night?? he didn't even play, I was hoping not to hear about him for 10 seconds.

This is the perfect time for Joey Harrington. He had no chance of a comeback for years, and now that he has this sudden chance, nobody has any expectations for him. Sports Illustrated predicted the Falcons to finish dead last at 2-14. If Harrington and the Falcons can beat a team like the Bengals, they should easily be able to beat the Bucs. If he succeeds, he is the QB for at least several years to come. If Harrington fails, the Falcons get a great draft pick next year, send Harrington to another team to get another backup job, and the Falcons start over fresh again like they did in 2002.
