This is a really interesting read about history of Idaho's Kibbe Dome that many believe is the weirdest football stadium in the country. There is also a video of their new, beautiful, small capacity basketball area.

That was a cool read.. I had no idea that the Kibbe Dome was a all wooden structure. I thought it was a WWII surplus hangar or something like that. The Big Sky has some unique indoor facilities for football: Kibbe, Holt (ISU) and Walkup (NAU).

So did I. It boggles my mind that they built a wooden roof over top of an existing stadium.

Even crazier than playing college football on the roof of a building.

Now, I kind of want to check out their all-wood basketball arena.

It's not a football field, but it has to be one of the strangest locations for a sports field of any kind:

Be careful diving for the ball near the sideline!!! It could be a doozy of a fall.

according to the comments, that was just a temporary "tennis court" set up on a helipad (which makes sense, since it isn't even close to regulation size; not to mention the winds would get pretty crazy)

Here's the irony: the Kibbie Dome is not really a dome,
that could be said about numerous indoor football venues, despite them often being called "domes"
