Duquesne and Merrimack kicked off their NEC slates on Homecoming Weekend in North Andover, accounting for the lone conference game on the Week 5 docket. Bryant posted its second straight non-conference victory, downing Ivy League member Brown in Smithfield. Saint Francis bounced back from a Week 4 setback to Norfolk State by topping MEAC member Morgan State on the road. Wagner and Sacred Heart both relinquished double-digit leads in setbacks to MEAC opponents.
