Alcorn State's athletic director Derek Horne has stepped aside. According to Football Scoop, Alcorn State was looking to fire Derek Horne after the game against South Alabama was on the verge of being canceled because they didn't have an athletic trainer.

Middle School athletic programs have an on-staff certified athletic trainer.....

This was just a colossal dereliction of duty, not only for the AD, but also for the school admin (the Alcorn SGA has approved a vote of 'no confidence' in Alcorn president Felecia Nave over this). They had a full-time trainer who quit some time ago but Alcorn showed no urgency at all to fill a position that is required by NCAA bylaws.
