Talking about Jerome Felton..."He's amazing," said Wofford coach Mike Ayers. "If he gets his pads headed north, you'd better hold on because he's going to bring it. He's the Purple Bus." xlolx

He's right. Do you think he'll get consideration from NFL scouts?

Maybe as a free agent....he might be a tad slow for the NFL.

He's projected to be a 4th round selection, according to this site:

I mean, he is the best college FB in the nation. That should translate into a pretty decent amount of attention.

Ayers hit the nail on the head! I remember the 2005 playoff game in which he reached the second level. Corey Lynch, one of our best tacklers, was the last man b/t him and the goal line. Needless to say, Felton plowed over him for the TD. I don't even think Lynch slowed him down. That kid is a mack truck w/out the Volvo grill.

Felton is listed as the #1 Fullback for the upcoming draft.

Why didn't a BCS program snap him up?

Why didn't a BCS program snap him up?

That is a good question because he has been impressive from the start. I heard rumors (let me repeat rumors) that our former coach now at Vanderbuilt sent him our wayxeekx That is difficult to believe since he could have been at a good school in the SEC ( even Vandy counts in the SEC)

Hopefully one of the other Paladin faithful knows the answer.

My take on it was he was looking hard at Duke and Vanderbilt (goes without saying he's a very bright kid). Vandy signed a fullback and Bobby J. sent him our way.

My impression is that Felton has always been a student first, football player second. His primary concern was to get an education, he just does football in his free time. :)

I'd like it better if he were a Commodore. :)

Speaking of the Commodores, I hope those f'ers lose every single game this year.

Selfishly, I would too, but he's a heck of a talent and plenty fun to watch play.

Felton can run north on us all day long, as far as I care.

Paulson Stadium's endzones are in the east and west :D

He's a talent. Glad to see him move on next season xthumbsupx

I talked to him, Cedrick Gipson, and Reggie Goolsby at the JPC event Saturday. They say there's no injuries and they're ready for Saturday. Goolsby's a real character!
