Portland State coach Bruce Barnum will buy the beer for everyone 21 and older at the Portland State/Western Oregon game on Saturday.

“I’ve got a deal for you,” Barnum announced, “anybody who heard me on your show... just say ‘I heard Barney on the BFT’ at the Barney Beer Garden and I’ll buy your beer.

“I’m not buying your ticket, but I’ll buy your beer.”

Is the attendance that bad for PSU games? xdrunkyx

It can be, especially when we are in direct competition with the Ducks and Beavers like this weekend. Beavs start at 12:30pm, Viks kickoff at 2pm and Ducks play at 3pm. Plus we are playing 20 miles from campus and against a lower division foe. In the past, all this would work against us.

It seems to be working, however. This morning, the virtual seating chart is showing a half-full stadium. National media outlets have picked up on it as well, and there is a rumor that ESPN Gameday is going to mention it on their broadcast Saturday morning.

I'm sure this is just for this weekend only. I've partied with Bobcat fans and poor Barney could go bankrupt if he extends it to next week. Although if he did, you all could probably cancel your tailgate over there. :D
