Can't say I've watched the game intently, but have the talking heads even once talked about AP without saying not the guy drafted this year in the first round? xmadx xmadx xmadx xmadx

I know it's an exhibition games, but they're hardly even concentrating on the game. Interviews during the action with the actual game play in a second picture. Corey Graham from UNH just intercepted a pass and it was like he rudely interrupted their discussion!! xeekx

And not once did they mention that he's the all time leading rusher in Division I. You'd think at least Jaworski (played at YSU) would pipe up about that. xsmhx

Not even close. AP broke his record his junior year, I believe.

Just think how many more he would have if they counted his playoff games (which they started doing after he graduated). He had something like 9,500 yds counting playoffs.xbowx

If they did, no one would ever get within 2000 yards of it.

OK, I guess you guys are right: Peterson beat Roberts by 6 yards.

I will note that some of Peterson's playoff game stats did count. They started counting in 2001, his last year.

If my math is correct, AP missed a whole quaters of games totaling 12 games due to Eagle blowouts. Imagine what could have been if the offense wasn't so prolific.

I am thankful someone posted this as I received a PM from a GSU fan asking that I correct this post:
http://www.anygivensaturday.com/forum/showpost.php?p=614077&postcount=11

I told him the only information I had to go on were the record books.
According to the member Adrian Peterson's records look more like this:

In 57 overall career contests, carried 1,378 times for 9,145 yards, 111 TDs and 160.4 yards per game
He provided this link:

It's not that fcs, I'm just confused. My CCU math taught me that 9145>6543. So how is the 6543 the record and not the 9145? And if it's includingthe playoffs, then the bears need to update their site.

Back to bed I still have a fever. Ugh

Yea, the DIII player is RJ Bowers of Grove City, IL ran for 7,353 yards and 9,253 all purpose yards. 231 apy/game.

http://www2.gcc.edu/sports/Football/rjbowers.htm

ap would be 3rd on this list with the 6k and change #

Almost the chicken-and-the-egg thing. Then again, this guy was amazing, even when he didn't get any blocking. A lot of his yards came by himself. He was that type of player. Ask the Griz fans. He scored the winning TD with little blocking.

And despite all the lofty statistics, it appears obvious to me that Brian Westbrook is the, overall, more talented back.

I'm not even going to debate that. Westbrook is a terriffic back. His speed possibly makes him a better fit for the NFL than AP.

That is true. Maybe you just needed better competition to keep AP in the game, something you didn't get from the rest of the SoCon xsmiley_wix

Or, a more sucky defense to keep the opposing team in the game!

Way to show your ignorance. Thomas Jones was a fast start running back who would burn out in the 2nd half, Benson is the opposite. He starts slow and then wears the teams out in the 2nd half.

Guarantee you he has more yards in the 3rd and 4th quarters then he does in the 1st and 2nd this season.
