A report in a Bangor, ME newspaper indicates U of Maine QB Joe Fagnano suffered a high ankle sprain in the 1st Quarter of the game @ JMU Saturday. The good news is that the Maine staff initially though it could be worse. The bad news is that he is currently in a "boot" and not practicing.

well I guess all the JMU fans have moved over to the FBS boards
I can't speak for others, but I spend less time on message boards these days since the pandemic started. Variety of reasons for that but I'm just less interested in spending time on the boards. It's more about the nature of message boards generally rather than an indictment of AGS or the JMU board.
Merrimack @ Maine - Maine, I guess?
Albany @ Syracuse - Syracuse by a lot
#24 New Hampshire @ Lafayette - UNH by a lot
Rhode Island @ Brown - URI
William & Mary @ Colgate - W&M
Elon @ Appalachian State - this will probably get ugly
#7 Delaware @ Rutgers - Delaware because... idk, why not. didn't like parts of what I saw in the Maine game but i'm assuming that was an aberration / taking foot off the pedal
#19 Richmond @ #14 Villanova - Nova
#5 North Dakota State @ Towson - bigger blowout than Elon/App St. I do like what I've seen from the Towson O-line, though. Limited sample size so maybe that's way off but they looked good in one part of one game, soo..
Stony Brook @ #4 (AP) Oregon - oh dear lord
#3 James Madison @ #8 Weber State - i'll take JMU. we have a young OL and minor (albeit yet unexposed) issues at CB. Weber is always legit. they flipped the switch at the half of last week's game and looked like themselves afterward. should be very tight and a Weber win would not surprise me at all

In an exciting game that featured several changes in momentum, Villanova (3-0, 1-0 CAA) rallied for 21 points in the final 5:01 to get past Richmond (2-1, 0-1 CAA), 34-27. Trailing 27-13 late in the fourth quarter, Wildcats' quarterback Daniel Smith took over, scoring on a 2-yard TD run with 5:01 left and then hitting Jaaron Hayek on a 44-yard TD pass to tie the contest with 2:02 remaining. After the VU defense forced a punt, Smith struck again with a 47-yard strike to Rayujoun Pringle that gave the Wildcats a seven-point lead with 38 seconds left. Smith finished 26-of-40 passing for 350 yards and 2 TD's, and added two rushing TD's. Hayek had eight catches for 127 yards. Richmond was down 13-0 at halftime, but stormed back with 27 unanswered points. Aaron Dykes returned the second half kickoff 98 yards for a TD, and quarterback Joe Mancuso followed with TD passes of 28 yards to Isaac Brown and 33 yards to Connor Deveney to give the Spiders a 21-13 lead. UR added field goals of 43 and 23 yards by Jake Larson to go up by 14 with nine minutes left before VU started its comeback. Mancuso was 18-of-32 passing for 244 yards and 2 TD's. Tyler Dressler had 11 tackles for Richmond, while Amin Black and Forrest Rhyne made eight stops apiece for VU.

In a much-anticipated battle of Top 10 teams, James Madison (3-0) earned a 37-24 win at Weber State. The Dukes took a 10-3 lead late in the first quarter on a 3-yard scoring run by quarterback Cole Johnson. Weber drove deep into JMU territory midway through the second quarter, but the Dukes forced a fumble and Josh Sarratt returned it 88 yards for a TD that put JMU ahead 17-3 at the half. JMU continued the momentum in the second half as Johnson hooked up on TD passes of 5 and 14 yards to Antwane Wells, Jr. and Ethan Ratke booted a pair of 40-yard field goals to push the Dukes to a commanding 37-10 advantage midway through the fourth quarter.

Maine's defense forced four turnovers and the Black Bears returned two blocked extra points for scores in a 31-26 victory over Merrimack. Maine (1-2) turned a pair of Merrimack first-quarter fumbles into 10 points as Elijah Barnwell had a 2-yard TD run and Jonny Messina kicked a 26-yard field goal. The Black Bears got a 4-yard TD run from Freddie Brock with 1:40 left in the second quarter and took a 22-20 lead into halftime. Brock caught a 51-yard scoring pass from Derek Robertson midway through the third quarter to go up 29-20. Merrimack closed the deficit with a TD later in the period, but Rich Carr blocked his second extra point of the game and returned it 97 yards to give the Black Bears a 31-26 advantage. It was just the third time in FCS history that a team has recorded two defensive extra points in a game. Maine was able to stop a Merrimack drive inside the 10-yard line with 3:15 remaining and ran out the clock from there. Robertson passed for 141 yards and a TD in his first start, while Barnwell ran for a team-best 78 yards and a TD. Fofie Bazzie made a career-high 13 tackles and broke up three passes for the Black Bears.

UNH running back Dylan Laube rushed for 79 yards and a TD on 10 carries and also caught six passes for 64 yards, while Brian Espanet made six receptions for 57 yards and 2 TD's. The Leopards returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a TD to take a quick 7-0 lead, but the Wildcats battled back as Edwards hit Espanet on scoring passes of 3 and 14 yards to make it 12-7 early in the third quarter. Lafayette got a field goal late in the third quarter, but Laube broke loose for a 50-yard TD run to extend the UNH advantage to 19-10 with 14:43 left. The Leopards kicked another field goal 1:47 to go, but UNH recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock. UNH's defense made four sacks and forced two turnovers while holding LC to 233 yards. Quarterback Kasim Hill accounted for 351 yards of total offense and four touchdowns as Rhode Island topped Brown, 45-24, to capture the Governor's Cup for the third straight year. The Rams improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2005. URI's defense also forced three turnovers which it turned into 17 points. After falling behind 7-0 early, URI reeled off 17 first-quarter points as Hill first connected with Justin Antrum on a 35-yard TD pass and then found the end zone from a yard out. The Bears closed within 17-14 at the half, but the Rams broke it open in the third quarter as Hill had a 7-yard TD pass to Caleb Warren and an 80-yard strike to Matt Pires, while Antrum had a 1-yard scoring run that put URI ahead 38-14. Hill was 13-of-19 passing for 320 yards, while Warren made a career-high five catches for 105 yards. Evan Stewart paced the URI defense with 12 tackles, while Jordan Jones capped the scoring by returning an interception 100 yards for a TD.

William & Mary (2-1) got another dominant performance from its defense while its offense rolled up 331 yards on the ground as the Tribe picked up a 27-7 win at Colgate. Donavyn Lester rushed for a career-high 117 yards on just 12 carries, including a 74-yard TD gallop that put W&M up 7-0 less than four minutes into the game. Freshman quarterback Darius Wilson, who threw for 125 yards and ran for 59, added a 5-yard TD run later in the first quarter and a 25-yard scoring run by J.T. Mayo pushed the Tribe advantage to 21-0 at halftime. That was more than enough for the Tribe defense, which recorded four sacks and picked off two passes while holding Colgate to 262 total yards. Trey Watkins made a team-best seven tackles, while Gage Herdman intercepted two passes and Nate Lynn recorded a pair of sacks.
Syracuse 62, UAlbany 24

UAlbany (0-3) trimmed an early 14-point deficit to four late in the first quarter, but fell 62-24 at ACC member Syracuse.
