North Dakota ran out of gas. They need to get bigger up front on the defensive line. I was impressed with their quarterback. Tommy Schuster is undersized, but he’s accurate throwing the football.

Golden Flashes up 22-0 now…

VMI has learned to win /expect to win SoCon / FCS games, but they do not yet expect to win against an FBS Team. Offense is tentative & tight. Defense is deer in headlights. Once this game is completely out of hand, they will play much better.

And, as mentioned in FUBeAR’s SoCon Pick’em, their losses of 3 or 4 starters (I think) from their Spring D are bigger than they appeared to be. Not, in any way, looking like repeat SoCon Champs right now.


BTW - Announcer said Davidson is VMI’s biggest rival. Homework grade = 0

Without drastic improvement, this VMI Team will not compete for the SoCon Championship. Morgan ain’t Udinski & their D Front took some key personnel losses from last Spring, I believe. Really didn’t look that good against Davidson last week. I suspect they will play better in 2nd half (yes, I know Flashes will be playing back-ups), but Keydets will just not be as tight (dropped & off-target passes, route errors, secondary busts, etc.) as they have been.

To be fair Kent State did compete with A&M for quite a bit last week, and last time they had a full season they won a bowl game. I think they’re a decent team and might compete for the MAC title. VMI still looks terrible but Kent State isn’t as bad as people think.

Possibly. Don't have a good read on them yet. Barely beat EIU, who just got beat by Dayton. Not very competitive against Northwestern today. Didn't play at all in the spring.
Massey actually gives us a better chance against them (52%) than against you guys (44%)...for what it's worth (which isn't much this early in the season).
