The Valparaiso University football program announced its team honors for Week 1 of the season on Tuesday. Sophomore wide receiver Chuck Maxwell (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Christian Academy) was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while redshirt sophomore defensive back Austin Chilton (Windermere, Fla. / West Orange) received Defensive Player of the Week honors and redshirt sophomore Matt Ross (Naperville, Ill. / Montini Catholic [Eastern Illinois]) was tabbed Special Teams Player of the Week.
