CEDAR CITY, Utah – After trailing for almost the entirety of the second half, the Southern Utah University soccer team finally broke through when Hailey Hamataka found Kate Schirmer for a goal in the 86th minute to force overtime. The Thunderbirds could not hang on in the extra period, though, as UC San Diego scored the golden goal in the 94th minute and claimed the 2-1 win.
