North Carolina A&T head coach Sam Washington opening statement… "Well, here we are; welcome. Let me tell you, we are very excited about the opportunity to get back out on the field and play some football. It's been a long time coming. I didn't quite realize it's been 620-plus days. That's a long time. That's a very long time, but we are where we are and we are excited to showcase our talents and get back out there. It's been a tough camp, but it's been a very good camp. I think we got a lot of things accomplished that we set out to do as far as fundamentals, technique and teaching effort. A lot of people don't believe in teaching effort – we do. I think we got quite a bit accomplished during spring camp. One of the other things on a bright note – we found some other talent. You don't really know what kind of talent you have until you put it to use or put it to work so we have some young men that are going to be able to help us immediately. Jamison Warren, I'm going to call a couple of names in particular. Very happy and surprised with what he was able to bring to the table. Another bright spot has been Sterling Berkhalter, another receiver. He's that X-type receiver, 6-5 guy that will block you and can catch-and-run, so very pleased with those two on the offensive side. Offensive line-wise we're returning pretty much our entire crew. We were able to add some new additions with Tariq Stewart. You'll be seeing him a lot at the offensive tackle position. He transferred in from the University of West Virginia and we're very pleased with his progressive so offensively, we're pretty much returning everybody. We have Jalen Fowler at the helm whom we just adore. His decision-making and leadership is second-to-none. Running back - we have the best running back in, I'm going to say, college football. Some people would say FCS football, but I think he can compete on any level with anyone and surprisingly, we found a couple of younger guys that we feel are going to be very useful this season at the running back position. Wesley Graves has shown a lot of promise and a lot of talent. Another one is Bhayshul Tuten, running back from New Jersey also has shown a lot of promise. We're very excited about this season and the talent we have and getting the opportunity to get out there and play a little bit."
