2020 (R-Sophomore)*: Appeared in all six games for the Blue & Gold, garnering five starts on the campaign … Finished the year second on the squad in total tackles with 48, while leading the way in unassisted tackles with 27 … Capped off the season with 1.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sack, while also chipping in for one pass breakup … Averaged 8.0 tackles per game … In his ETSU debut, Price finished tied for a team-high nine tackles as the Bucs handed Samford a 24-17 loss in the season opener … Tallied double-digit tackles on two occasions, leading the Bucs with 10 tackles against Furman (March 13) and logging a career-best 14 tackles in the season finale at Mercer (April 10).

WCU #23 belongs to Jerry Gaines, his number and jersey has been retired. Jerry was an Associated Press and American Football Coaches Association All-America selection in 1974 . Also earned All-America honors in baseball and track & field while at Western ... Set WCU records with 3,449 career receiving yards, a 20.6-yard per reception average for his career, and recorded 15 games with over 100 yards receiving ... Only the second Western Carolina football player to have his jersey retired ... Inducted into Western Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990, WCU's first-ever induction class.

Jerry Gaines is the only three-sport All-American in WCU athletic history. He was an NCAA Division II All America Selection in 1974 and helped the Catamounts to a 9-1 record and the national playoffs. He is one of two football players to have his jersey and number - 23 - retired and established over 40 football records as he caught 187 passes for 3,449 yards in four season. A track and field All-American in the long jump and triple jump in 1971 and 1972. His records still stood after the 1990 season. He batted .404 in 1975 and was named NCAA Division II All America and North Carolina College Athlete of the Year. He signed with the Texas Rangers in 1975.

2019 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in all 16 games as a member of the kickoff and punt return teams...Made three tackles against Western Illinois in a reserve role at cornerback...Also recovered a fumble against WIU on kickoff coverage.

2018 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Took a redshirt year with the Bison and did not play in any games...Named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2018 graduate of Mulvane High School...Three-year starting quarterback and defensive back for coach Dave Fennewald...Team captain as a senior...Played in eight games passing for 1,425 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 936 yards and 16 TDs...Had 46 tackles and three interceptions on defense...Accounted for 7,895 yards of total offense with 101 touchdowns in his career...Passed for 4,536 yards and 51 TDs...Set school records for career points (306) and rushing yards (3,359), attempts (493) and TDs (50)...Kansas All-Class 4A Division I first team quarterback in 2016 and 2017...Two-time all-league first team and Offensive League MVP...All-league second team defensive back in 2017...Invited to play in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl as a defensive back.
