Defensive end commits to football Bears

Missouri State has beaten out two other Gateway Conference schools for a pass-rushing defensive end from the St. Louis area.
Joe Day. from Fort Zumwalt West High School in O’Fallon, has given Missouri State an oral commitment for football. Paul Day, his father and head coach at Fort Zumwalt, said Tuesday that his son planned to sign with Missouri State in February.
Joe Day, a second-team Class 6 all-state selection last season in helping his team finish 8-2, also was considering Gateway schools Southern Illinois and Western Illinois. Others on his final list were Miami (Ohio) University and ball State.
Lebanon High School senior lineman Garrett Wade committed to Missouri State earlier this week.
