MARCUS WALKER Assistant Coach (Defensive Backs)

This is Marcus Walker's second season after joining the SFA staff last August coming to the Lumberjack program after spending the 2019 season at fellow Southland Conference member McNeese, where he was part of a defense that allowed the second least points in the conference on the season and racked up 12 total interceptions. Prior to joining SFA, Walker also made coaching stops at Division II Henderson State and before that had a three-year stint as a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma. While coaching with the Sooners from 2015 to 2017, Oklahoma won three Big 12 titles and made two appearances in the College Football Playoff.
Walker was a standout defensive back for the Sooners from 2004 to 2007, and helped lead Oklahoma to three Big 12 titles in 2004, 2006 and 2007. A two-time All-Big 12 pick at cornerback and a team captain as a senior in 2007, Walker played in three BCS bowl games, including the 2004 National Championship game against Southern California. From 2008 to 2010, Walker spent time in the NFL with both the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers.
