Can't say I follow that silly other league, but if I had to, I'd pick the Mets - for my mom! :)

I think the Phils will make a good run. However, The Astros don't have to beat up on the other NL East contenders as the Phils do. Plus the Astros have Clemons.

I picked Houston, but honestly, I don't know much about the other league. Still, it's fun to see a few great races going on in both leagues. AL East, West, then Wild Card, even the Central if Cleveland stays hot and the ChiSox don't pick it up a bit. Same in the Senior Circuit.

Well, except for the NL West.

The Mets look like they are getting hot for the first time this season. It reminds me of 1973 when they went 22-8 the last 30 games to win the NL East.

Oh yeah, that was the last time the Braves didn't win the division. :( ;)

Marlins. They have good pitching and better hitting than Houston.

After last night, makin' all the right moves in coming back from 3-1 deficit to smash Arizona with 9 runs in the 7th and 8th innings, I think the Phils will not win the wild card. Their going to win the division. And the wild card will go to the Astros.
Though I haven't thought all that much of Manuel this year, last night's move in taking Myers out after four innings was an excellent move. Myers was clearly unhappy, but trailing 3-1 at the time and definitely not on 'his game'--already had walked four, and been roughed up, Manuel lived up to his mantra of 'I'm here to win games, not a popularity contest.' He pulled the trigger and the much improved bullpen did the rest. Of course, Utley and Abreu's dingers didn't hurt--coming through in the clutch.

Unfortunately for Philly... they won't be playing the dogs of the NL much longer...

Reality check... 21 of the last 25 teams the Phillies played have had losing records. But to end the season... 28 of their last 31 opponents currently have winning records. The schedule along with the Phillies weak starting pitching and their inability to produce runs vs good pitching (which they will see a lot of from Atlanta, Florida and Houston) will doom their chances.
