Great news for those two conferences.... especially for the MEAC given the shaky ground they're on in terms of membership.

This is great news for both conferences and essentially gives the MEAC hope to be able to survive the exodus of long standing teams who left for the SWAC/Big South the last year. I like the idea of the MEAC/SWAC challenge at a neutral site location to kick off college football season.

The SWAC teams definitely have a rougher road to get there!

Moving the Swac-Meac challenge up a week will help with those schools that play a rival school for the Labor Day Weekend as they will now be able to play in this game and then get a extra week to practice and a extra bye weekend during the season.

This caused us to turn down the Challenge a few years back. Our goal is top open up every Labor Day Weekend at home. From 2017-2019 it was with Tuskegee but that game had now been moved back to Thanksgiving, this year we have in-state rival Miles College scheduled for Labor Day weekend.

Oh wow. didn't know Tuskegee is back in the TDC. Jenn is down there doing her thing.

Yes sir. The Turkey Day Classic is back and when it was announced the news got EVERYBODY fired up. We're looking for an in-state series with either Samford or UNA for the next few years.

Another good thing about this the SWAC/MEAC challenge won't be going head to head with the HOF game (Grambling vs Tennessee State)

Lol ... Nah. no hate. 3 of the top 4 MEAC teams left the conference. The remaining schools now have to prove themselves against the other FCS conferences

A smart move by the conferences and the sponsor to move the annual early season game to Week 0. More eyes available to tune in.
