Atlanta should win the East... so I'd say it's between the... Astros... Nationals... Phillies... Marlins and Mets. My guess is... the Marlins.

If the Phils relief pitching holds up like it has, I really like their chances.

I wouldn't be so fast to give the Braves the NL East just yet, and yes I am a lifelong Braves fan.

Philly and the Mets have come on strong lately and I see a dogfight as those three and the Marlins beat each other up while Houston probably has the easiest schedule of all the contenders.

The Phillies have developed a three-headed monster hammer for the last three innings: Madson, Urbina and Wagner. The starters have shown decent strides on getting deep into the game. The Phils already have the #1 defense in the NL. Baring injury, the lineup, is pretty solid 1--7. I'd rather have Polanco at third, but getting Urbina was more important. The Phils still have 8 games with the Braves, so the division title is theirs for the taking. If not, I still like their chances with the wild card. The eternal optimist, I remain...

Reality check... 21 of the last 25 teams the Phillies played have had losing records. But to end the season... 28 of their last 31 opponents currently have winning records. The schedule along with the Phillies weak starting pitching and their inability to produce runs vs good pitching (which they will see a lot of from Atlanta, Florida and Houston) will doom their chances.
