He won't be.

Won't be avaliable prob until 2022. At which point he will prob decide to transfer to FBS since he has to sit out anyway. That'd be the most SDSU thing ever.

The regular season was obviously a bit of a mess but the NCAA did a great job conducting the playoffs. The last 3 weeks felt as normal as spring playoff football could! Really enjoyed it!

These two teams are going to have one helluva tough turnaround imo. Going to be interesting to see how they fare come mid to late October....

That said, that was quite an entertaining championship game (one of the better ones, and the last quarter reminded me a lot of Illinois State v. NDSU). That was a well-deserved win by Sam Houston State. Now they can even start using these t-shirts, instead of their previous versions. Congratulations to the Bearkats and all of their fans. Enjoy it!

At the start of the playoffs I figured the chances of that were slim to none. This entire spring season was far from ideal with all the opt outs and cancellations in the regular seasons but these playoffs really delivered some great football none better than this championship game.

Congrats to Sam Houston. You have a hell of a team. I just wish we could have seen how it played out with both teams at full strength. Not saying we would have won if Gronowski doesn't get hurt, but it sucks that we'll never know. There was literally one player on our team that we couldn't afford to get hurt. One guy that we had no way to replace him, anyone else and we would have been fine. It happens on the first drive of the game. Ugh. Just heart wrenching for Mark, the team, and fans. Credit to our guys for fighting through it and almost pulling it off. Credit to Schmid for having ice in his veins and pulling off that final drive. Had a great time in Frisco, can't wait to come back, hopefully soon.

Lastly darn shame, that all the athletes who got got serious injuries this spring will not be back this fall it will impact the quality of the Fall Football programs. Going to be a look back on this in a few months and in hide-sight and arm-chair QB'ing saying this should not have been held. But it had to happen, too much money at stake and many programs will still be hurting for dollars after this pandemic due to the financial impacts the pandemic had.

At the game we were surrounded by a father of one of our players who is a high school HC in Texas. He had some of his staff with him. Before the game he kept telling them that #12 was going to be the best player on the field...BY FAR. They just sorta nodded. Every time Ezzard made a play, the dad would just look over at them. Especially that high-point catch where he just basically took it from the DB. Of course, he was the best player on the field until the 4th quarter when #22 on the Jackrabbits simply TOOK OVER. I feel sorry for the MVFC over the next three years.

I think JMU really wasn't "top tier" of an FCS program until 2016. SHSU has had this weird trajectory to where they were really good ~10 years ago, were very good 5-7 years ago (but in different ways that made them vulnerable to being curb stomped by JMU/NDSU), and then they were mediocre the last couple of years and then BOOM they win a national championship.

I think EWU has to be in the same conversation as SHSU and JMU too. There's an interesting dynamic to the FCS playoffs to where the top teams are either burning hot and make it to at least the semis consistently or are ice cold and either don't make the playoffs or have an early exit (JMU/SHSU/EWU).

What I find interesting is NDSU dominance, of course. But SDSU seems to defy this trend as well, because they are consistent, making the playoffs 9 straight years, as well as at least the semis 3x. If anything, SDSU is the archtypical example of "someone has to lose" because whenever they get eliminated, it's very often by one of those NDSU/JMU/EWU/now SHSU teams.

Considering the downward attendance trend of all college football programs, I don't think stadium size will be as much of a factor as streaming/production capabilities and fan experience. It will be about producing a good product for those hard-core who do show up, but also a quality experience for those who take it in in whatever format they want.
