2021 Spring Semifinal: James Madison @ Sam Houston

Congratulations Bearkat fans! Things went as I more or less expected in the first half, even better with that last 6 minutes of the first half, which worried me for exactly what happened in Q3. This team was not prepared to hold a lead, and the coaches deserve some of the credit for that, as do the players who failed to execute fundamentals. Still, my hats off to those players wearing orange and their perseverance. This JMU team was a rag tag sort of group after so many losses to graduation and transfers to FBS, so I’ll take what we got and hope they can build on this so so hard lesson. The chemistry of SHSU came through strong, same as SDSU, so it should be a good match up next week.

Enjoy the moment, national championship appearances should never be taken for granted (even the Bison might agree lol). I’ll eat my crow satisfied with what JMU overcame in this season.

Wow!! I was so dejected at the half. I told my wife that that 2nd quarter was the worst quarter of football I’ve ever witnessed at Bowers. And that was followed by the best 16:30 min of football I’ve watched at Bowers. Credit to JMU for not just laying down there. That was a great drive and 2 point conversion to bring it to a 3 point game and to have a shot to tie or take the lead late showed great resilience and that is a testament to the program. Just want to say that I have suffered for a long time and I am used to losing badly on the big stage. But, this trip to Frisco feels better than 2011 and 2012. This team has been through a lot and, to be honest, is more balanced than those previous Frisco teams. I hope we win but I know that SDSU is a badass squad. I feel like we both are striving for that same elusive goal. I just hope for a well played game in Frisco. Let's hope the refs don't insert themselves unnecessarily, and nobody gets hurt. Let's drink like Bison in Frisco!

He threw 5 INTs at Colgate to end their 2018 season and threw an INT in the endzone in Frisco to end their 2019/20 season. He also owns the single worst game by QBR for a starting QB in the 2020 NFL season.

Ezzard is one of those players that turn ANY play into a touchdown. He disappeared early in the playoffs because teams were rolling a safety to him as a double team. I'm guessing SDSU will do the same. But if we make them punt a few times.... If he gets 7-10 touches, I like our chances. If he doesn't, then somebody else (Adeyi or Noah Smith) will need to step up.
