RICHMOND, Va. – Two weeks after it was originally scheduled, Richmond baseball began Atlantic 10 Conference play Friday evening at Pitt Field, hosting the Davidson Wildcats. Richmond fell behind early, but a steady offense and a career outing from Alden Mathes (Broomall, Pa.) out of the bullpen gave the Spiders the 6-4 victory. Richmond improves to 15-6 overall and 1-0 in Atlantic 10 play. Davidson falls to 20-19 overall and 4-9 in league play.
