The University at Albany softball team got off to a quick start against New York State rival Syracuse on Tuesday afternoon, but fell to the Orange 10-6. The Great Danes took an early 2-0 lead to start the game, but errors in the field proved to be the difference maker with only two of Syracuse's runs being earned. Tuesday's action saw just one game, with the originally planned doubleheader being cut to one matchup at the beginning of the week.
