It's kind of cool...Both of these guys played ball at FCS schools in SC....and both are from the same home town...

CAM NEWTON

HOW ACQUIRED: Free agent, 2006

EXPERIENCE: Signed as undrafted free agent in 2005 with Atlanta Falcons. Spent most of 2005 and 2006 on the team’s active and reserve lists. Played in first NFL game for Falcons at Buffalo on Sept. 25, 2005. Signed with Carolina on Dec. 27, 2006 after being cut from Falcons’ practice squad.

COLLEGE: Three-time all-Southern Conference selection at defensive back with the Paladins. Led team in interceptions twice and is ninth on the school’s career interceptions list.

QUINTON TEAL

WEIGHT: 187 pounds

COLLEGE: Coastal Carolina

HOW ACQUIRED: Undrafted free agent, 2007

COLLEGE: Named second-team Division I-AA All-American by The Associated Press. Owns school record for career interceptions (17) and the top three spots on the single-season list (six in 2004, five in 2005, four in 2006). Third on school’s career tackles list (227) and holds top-10 spots on numerous other school career and single-season charts.
