I'm heading down to Lexington on the bikes next week with a VMI buddy. A couple weeks ago I was assuming we would lose but now that we're back healthy with a full(er) roster I think we might have a chance.

It's basically what I've said over the last couple of years. We've made nothing but poor hires on the defensive side of the ball since our first DC took most of the staff with him to Navy. We're soft, undisciplined, lacking in fundamentals, unprepared, unable to adjust, etc, etc. Granted, the offense greatly underperformed as well, but we went down by so much so fast that we weren't really able to run our offense the way we wanted to anyway. We're far from where we were when we physically dominated JSU on the way to the quarterfinals. Not surprised by this result.

An FU RB could have caught him & brought him down, but he didn’t have enough heart to hustle and even try to do it.

Outstanding win for the bellhops. These young men (and program) could have quit (like ChattaQuitta & Wof-Fraud did) after losing 11 straight, but they’ve demonstrated HEART & refused to pack it in. Never will like them, but they certainly have earned my (renewed) respect in the past 2 weeks. Furman has A LOT of work to do. Need to find their HEART also.

Considering NDSU's kicker was coming back from a hamstring injury and limped off the field I'd say coaches had every right to get in the officials grill. Then they compound the blown call by calling an unsportsmanlike from the reaction to their blown call. Apparently we got the JV crew today.

I've said it before, but had the Demons lost this one, they were going down as one of the best 0'fer teams I've ever seen in the SLC. They have good players, especially on defense, but for whatever the reasons, had struggled to find a way to win games. I don't care what anybody says, the Southland was a good league this spring — highly underrated compared to what I've seen around the country.

I agree. There were really no consistently easy outs. I know there were some blowouts, but those teams that got blasted usually bounced back and played good, competitive football. And you are spot on about NWST: Their 4 losses were by a total of 40 points with only one loss being by more than one touchdown (McNeese by 14). With better luck they could be undefeated.

No kidding. I watched that game and I'm glad I did. Duquesne came back from 14 down in the 4th quarter and had SHU on their heels in OT until the Pioneers scored on 4th & 14. That was a miracle finish for Sacred Heart and a heartbreaker for the Dukes.
